Developed and directed the nation’s first Center for Safe and Secure Schools, utilizing qualitative data and researched-based best practices. Responsible for all aspects and operations of the Center, which coordinated safe and secure school initiatives for over 30 school districts in the Texas Gulf Coast region.
Texas Education Service Centers – Safe Schools Initiative
Provided Safety and Security Orientations and Trainings to approximately 145 public school districts throughout Regions 4, 6 & 12
Texas Safe Schools Alliance
Identified statewide safe school issues, cultivated emergency management plans, developed and trained emergency management teams, managed regional response and recovery efforts. Designed, implemented and provided governance of process for public safety; asset protection; liability reduction; ADA, OCR, FERPA, OSHA compliance and the Texas School Safety Standards through on-site services, technical assistance and staff development programs. Responsible for the coordination of over 16,000 staff and volunteer background investigations. Coordinated executive security services for all domestic and foreign dignitaries visiting Texas public schools. Provided discreet, complex problem solving as necessary.

Texas Education Agency – Persistently Dangerous Schools Project
The PDS project facilitates the implementation of systems and strategies to reduce violence, drugs, gangs and other related problems, provides prevention/intervention training for staff, students and parents, and increases the capacity for positive behavior supports, bully prevention, and classroom management.
